24 HOURS BEFORE
GOOD PREPARATION IS ESSENTIAL for getting the best results from your spray tan.
Make sure you exfoliate your whole body using a mitt or scrub 24 hours before your appointment, particularly on dry areas like your knees and elbows.
If removing an old tan, scrub in a warm bath for at least 20-30 minutes to remove it.
Complete any hair removal at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan.
Avoid using oil-based products immediately prior to your tan, as spray tan solution is water-based.
Turn up make-up and deodorant free if you can, but we will have face wipes on hand if you need them!
ON THE DAY
THE 'GETTING NEARLY NAKED' PART
We appreciate that it’s not always easy to bare all in the name of a spray tan and we understand how vulnerable and anxious this can make you feel. Please be assured, we are not here to judge you, we are here to provide you with a professional service.
Once you arrive, your technician will leave you to undress and provide you with a disposable G-string (for the ladies) and hair net to wear during your spray tan. You’re welcome to wear your own underwear if you prefer – Gentleman, please BYO undies, no undies = no spray.
We’ll do our upmost to help you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the experience. Remember, you’re in control all the way, from choosing the right colour for you, to how much is applied and where you want it applied… it’s your tan and not as scary as you may think, we promise!
WHAT TO WEAR
LET YOUR SKIN BREATHE
Even though our spray tans dry quickly, it’s important to let your skin breathe after your appointment.
We suggest wearing: Loose fitting, dark coloured clothing, nothing that may increase rubbing such as tight boots or denim and preferably thongs or sandles for footwear.
Your technician will advise how long you should wait prior to washing off your tan. Once you’ve had your first shower, you’re ready to dress normally! Please note, some tan transfer to clothing or bedding is expected following your tan, particularly on warm days.
Ask us about bra straps and activewear at the time of your appointment, we have a little extra advice if needed.
AFTER YOUR TAN
FOLLOWING YOUR SPRAY TAN we recommend you:
Very gently cleanse away your tan using either a soap free or tan specific wash or a cheap moisturiser in a cool (not hot) shower.
Pat dry with a towel, don’t rub.
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Nourish your skin every day – spray tan can have a drying effect on your skin, especially if you have opted for a quick developing tan.
Tans will fade – avoid long, hot showers or baths, swimming and heavy exercise if you’d like to tan to last as long as possible.
